Honesty Behind The Lack of Recent Posts
Okay, here's why there have been huge gaps in blog entries. I left our camera in Dubuque over Easter and haven't seen my parents since then. However, I will be getting it back shortly, and then pictures and videos will be forthcoming. I have a ton of pictures from Easter to upload, and some other stuff, too.
Gideon and Those He Loves
Friday night Kathee, Gideon, and I went to Moline High School's graduation ceremony. This is a picture with two of Gideon's favorite people in the world. Rhonda comes to visit Kathee and Gideon on a weekly basis and has lovingly become known as "Ditty Cookie" to Gideon. The teens in the youth ministry call her "Ditty," and she brings cookies each week with her when she visits. Jacob (the graduate) babysits Gideon on numerous ocassions, and watches the kids at our weekly couples Bible study meeting. Gideon thinks Jacob is the best!

The Marshmellow Gun
Last week one of my teens brough his marshmellow gun to my house (upon my request). After having a blast with it (pun intended), I went out the next day and bought enough PVC pipe to make 10 guns for Catalyst.
I showed Gideon how to use it, and it took him about 5 minutes to figure out how to use it. It didn't take long for him to start firing marshmellows at Solomon. The great thing was that Gideon couldn't figure out where the marshmellows were going after they came within five feet of Solomon. Gideon would fire, Solomon would eat the marshmellow, and Gideon would be looking around for the fired marshmellow. So fun!

Hiking at Morrison-Rockwood State Park

A few weeks ago, we headed about an hour north-east of here to a state park for some hiking. It was a fabulous day for hiking. We saw and heard a lot of birds (saw my first Sandhill Crane), scared out 3 deer, picked off 3 ticks, and walked 4 or 5 miles! It was a great day. This park also has equestrian trails, so Gideon got to see his first live horses. Although he was taken by them, was able to make horse noises, and a bit curious, it turned out he was not interested in going up close and seeing them. However, Papa still tried.
