Another First- the Sprinkler
Neither of the kids had ever played in the sprinkler. Gideon absolutely loved it. And Hope? No, not so much. She did, however, love it once Mama picked her up and ran through with her.
Celebrating "Crampa" Smith's Birthday
On Saturday, we got to celebrate the big day by going to Texas Roadhouse as a family. Rather than Grandpa sitting on the saddle and being sung to, Gideon filled in just fine. We think it's pretty cool that we get to start celebrating big days with Kathee's family in person, and no over Skype!
Another New Tradition
The Davenport Farmers Market happens every Saturday morning. Kathee and I have decided that we'd like to go whenever we can. It's something we can do as a family. It's free. And it's pretty cool to see all the stuff. So here are some pictures from this past weekend's outing. BTW, we stopped at the clown booth and paid $1 for a flower balloon.

A Day With The Grandparents
Kathee's mom and dad moved to Moline this week, from India. It's been fun getting to see them more often. Today we rode the Channel Cat from Moline, over to the Village of East Davenport, for lunch. We ate at Lagomarcinos and then came back home. Really fun trip.

Hope has another hair cut
After lunch at Rocket Park, Hope had a hair appointment with Kristin Cornell. Hope didn't do as well at her second appointment as she did with her first (as you can see). However, it was all made better when the kids and I went to Lagomarcinos for a hot fudge sundae while Mama got her hair cut.
Picnic at Rocket Park
This Friday we loaded up the kids and headed across the River to Bettendorf to McManus Park (but everyone calls it Rocket Park due to the rocket play equipment). We had a blast (so to speak)!

Any Similarity?
Last weekend when my extended family was together at Camp Forest Springs, my brother Nathan remarked that Hope looks just like me when I was her age. So I found some old pictures of me to compare. I'm finally starting to see it, I think. You decide.
Gideon cooks and Hope eats
Thursdays are pretty special days in our home. That's because, according to Gideon, "the kids come over.". And as he loves to cook, tonight he made brots and Dubuque hotdogs for the kids (with a little help from Kathee and me). And, as you can see, Hope loves the fresh tomatoes. And you thought she got in a fight!
