Pictures from Hope's first week at kindergarten

The box on each person's chair are the school supplies that come when you pay for the school to procure them instead of you going to Walmart and hunting for them.  We took Mason Ridge up on that option this year.

It is good to see so many pictures of Hope smiling as she's so tired when she gets home from school that we aren't sure how she's doing.
Another aspect of the first day of school being tough is that when the recess bell rings she is expected to stop playing and get in line.  What?!  "But I didn't want to stop playing and then I got in trouble for not coming to join the line!"

(Captain for picture below)- Notice who isn't joining in the public school indoctrination plan already in full swing by the apparent hand gesture they seem to be incorporating with lots of things.  (For those of who are homeschoolers and other people who aren't sure if I'm serious or not, IT'S A JOKE!

Hope's recently-decided favorite song is Toby Keith's "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue."  I downloaded this song after thinking about how great and varied our country is (after driving over most of it with the windows down a few weeks ago).  How appropriate that Ms Bence used a line in that song in helping the students see how great America is and at least one of the finer points of American foreign policy and how it's the American Way!

Papa, please play the song that goes "when Uncle Sam puts your name at the top of his list and the Statue of Liberty starts shaking her fist..."
Beat of her own drummer.  The first day of school Hope came home starving.  Apparently her table mates told her she had to drink her milk BEFORE she could eat her lunch.  Not wanting to do it the way they said, she neither drank her milk nor eat her lunch.  I'll show them!!!
The little boy in the red shirt lives here on campus (and his father is a friend of mine).  Noah, in telling his dad about lunch said that it was good but that he didn't ever want to sit by Hope Terwilleger again. Upon asking him why, Noah responded that she "cries too loudly at the table."  This was in connection with the "you have to drink your milk first" fiasco.

We have a lefty.  Scissors and all!
