Fun Pictures at the Concert

Gideon thought one of the coolest aspects of the iPhone is that there is a front-facing camera. Watch how his face progresses as he puts it together that I'm taking pictures of the two of us! I love it!

Gideon's First Concert...Gregg Hampton

My friend Gregg Hampton was in town tonight for a concert as he, his wife, and their two sons move from Atlanta to Colorado Springs. We let Gideon sleep extra long today so he'd be in tip-top shape for the concert. The concert was great!
Here is Gideon, after the concert, with Gregg and one of his sons, Brennan.
Gideon thinks Gregg is awesome for two reasons- first, Gregg plays guitar and is pretty incredible on it. Two, when Gregg was in town last month he stopped by and visited...AND READ GIDEON A BOOK! Wow! Gregg is the man in Gideon's world!

FUPC Children's Ministry Harvest Fest

Each month the childrens ministry at our church does family days. These have been incredibly fun for us to participate in the past few months. Last night, we had the Harvest Fest at the Erickson's home. Gideon had a blast! From the fridge-box maze, to the carmel apple barn to the hayrides to supper and to singing around the fire, we had a blast! So fun to be a part of the body of Christ!

Laura Williams and Jen Kronberg fulfilling GIDEON'S request of having an "N" and a piece of corn painted on his face. He loved it!
Laura Williams' husband Matt (who is one of my adult leaders and currently the elder of youth ministries) "helping" insure Gideon got the perfect corn and N on his face. Thanks for the help, Matt, they were both perfect!
The finished corn! Thanks Laura!
The finished "N." Thanks Jen!

A Few More Pictures From the Orchard

Flip flops? Check. Climbing through the tall grass to get the perfect apple. Check. Doing it while being pregnant (and still being able to drink coffee)? PRICELESS!!!

A Day At the Orchard with Langes

This past Friday, my boyhood friend Matt Lange brought his wife and three sons down from Dubuque for a day of hanging out. We opted to go to Stone's Apple Barn to pick apples. The kids had a great time, as did their parents.
Matt and I had more than one conversation during our apple filling of days gone by when we'd go with my elder brother Aaron and his friend Pat Duggan to the mounty. There was a convent there, with the nuns working a huge apple orchard. Upon gaining permission from the nuns to take "the windfall" apples, Pat, being the biggest of the 4 of us would start shaking an apple tree and we'd be under it catching apples and filling our shirts. It was also on more than one occasion when we were chased out of the orchard by the nuns.
It just seemed weird to have to pay for the apples (which is also maybe why I showed up with not enough money for purchase the apples...thanks Matt), however, it was nice not having to bike out to the orchard like we did when we went to the mounty.
Here are some pictures.

We are loaded up and ready to return to pay for the apples!
!Here we are heading out to get some (34 pounds) apples!
It didn't take the boys very long to get the bags filled!
Gideon loaded with both hands full!
Thankfully Matt was there to help Gideon out, as he needed LOTS of help getting the apples that were high up in the trees.
